Evaluation of white spot lesions around orthodontic brackets using different bonding agents – An in vivo study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objectives: The objectives of the study were to assess white spot lesions around orthodontic bracket macroscopically using two different bonding agents – one with amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) (Aegis Ortho) and without ACP (Transbond XT). Materials Methods: comprises 10 patients from 14 23 years age. Patients divided into control groups. Forty premolar teeth then observed (20 in each group). Bonding procedure was done brackets positioned on all four 1 st pre-molars pre-treatment photographs taken. experimental material used Aegis Ortho composite (study group) Transbond XT (control Debonding (by Wing deformation technique) performed after 16 weeks which led adhesive fracture at resin interface leaving essentially enamel. Then, follow-up taken evaluate each. Results: containing for purpose, provided lesser enamel demineralization than XT. Conclusion: is significantly more beneficial reliable, however, further investigations are also required understand its clinical performance better.

Quantification of white spot lesions around orthodontic brackets with image analysis.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the use of image analysis for diagnosis and quantification of artificial white spot lesions on digital photographs before and after removal of orthodontic brackets. MATERIALS AND METHODS Enamel demineralization was artificially induced on the labial surface of 20 teeth bonded with orthodontic brackets. Standardized digital photographs were taken at angles of 90 degree...

Fluoride-Releasing Materials to Prevent White Spot Lesions around Orthodontic Brackets: A Systematic Review.

The relation between orthodontic fixed appliances use and enamel demineralization is well established. Different preventive approaches have been suggested to this problem, but controversy remains about which is the best. The aim of this study was to perform a systematic review of clinical trials that investigated the effectiveness of materials containing fluorides to lute brackets or cover the ...

Effects of Three Different Topical Agents on Enamel Demineralization around Orthodontic Brackets: A Clinical Study

Placement of fixed appliances is still unfortunately linked with a high risk of developing white spot lesions, in spite of advances in orthodontic materials and treatment techniques [1,2]. During orthodontic treatment, plaque accumulation is frequently inevitable around the brackets because of inadequate oral hygiene which is very common in pubertal people [2]. Dental plaque is a biofilm produc...
